This chapter takes place in Istria, Croatia's quieter coastal side, where crystal-clear water meets olive groves, stone villages, forest trails, family-run wineries, local markets, and the slower beauty of life by the sea.
It is a place where you can focus on your work, settle into a different pace, and then step away from your screen to swim in Croatia's beautiful sea, wander through old coastal towns, explore hidden coves, share long meals, and experience the country through people who actually call it home.

Your home base for everything that unfolds over the two weeks. The villa is close to the beach and walkable to town, so you can move easily between focused work, sea swims, local cafés and market runs. It is where mornings start slowly over coffee and breakfast, where people move between focused work and pool breaks, and where the group naturally comes back together at the end of the day.
Between the shared spaces, BBQ terrace, pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and game room, the house is designed for the simple moments that make people feel close: cooking together, jumping in the pool after a call, sharing playlists, playing games, telling stories, and letting the day turn into something you could not have planned.

Matej has spent 10+ years in travel and hospitality and grew up on this coast — he knows the beaches that aren't on maps and the winemakers who were never on Instagram. Ardi has spent years curating music and art events in Croatia, and builds the kind of warmth that turns a house full of strangers into a home. Between us, we've lived the remote life long enough to know exactly what it tends to be missing — which is the whole reason AMONG exists.
We've also made it easy to say yes carefully: we talk before any money is committed. You apply, we have a real conversation, and only if it feels right for both of us do you reserve. Your balance stays refundable up to August 25, and if we ever can't run the trip, you get everything back.

Matej
Creator of AMONG, Matej is Croatian — a data architect by trade, an experience architect at heart. Years of remote work carried him through 34 countries and a year living in Bali, and taught him the truth behind the dream: freedom without belonging is just a beautiful kind of lonely. He came home to Istria, where his family has run 70+ villas for 10 years, and built AMONG to be exactly what he'd spent years searching for on the road — a place where people don't just pass through, they belong.
Ardi
Ardi is a Croatian event curator with 3 years across music and art industries, bringing the warmth, local instinct, and hospitality that turns a coliving into a place called home. After years in a digital-oriented world, she made a choice to reshape her life around physical experiences — art, music, and the kind of genuine human connection that only happens in the same room. Everything she creates is an invitation for others to do the same.
Mariah
Mariah is from Northern California and built her own marketing business in 2019 to create the freedom to work and travel on her own terms. Discovering coliving in Spain, she found the kind of community she had always been looking for, and later met Matej and Ardi there, where the idea for AMONG began. She brings her love for wellness, entrepreneurship, and personal growth to AMONG, helping guests feel connected and supported long after the trip ends.

Istria — a beautiful peninsula in northwest Croatia, approximately 10km from Pula Airport. Surrounded by the Adriatic Sea, olive groves, and ancient stone villages.
Maximum 10 guests. Intentionally small. Intimate enough to go deep, diverse enough to be interesting.
Absolutely. Most guests come solo. That's actually the point — meeting people you wouldn't have found otherwise.
Not exactly. It's a coliving pop-up — more flexible and less structured than a retreat. Think: intentional community meets working holiday, with enough space to do your own thing.
Yes. High-speed WiFi throughout the villa and a daily schedule designed around deep work blocks. There's no dedicated office or desk setup — you work wherever you like in the villa, whether that's a terrace table, the living room, or your own room.
Three community dinners are included. All other meals are on your own — but with 100m to restaurants, you won't go hungry.
Never. Everything is opt-in. We design a rhythm, you choose what fits. Some guests will do everything; others will work all day and surface for dinner. Both are welcome.
A €200 deposit secures your spot and is non-refundable but transferable to another person. The remaining balance is due by August 25, 2026 and is fully refundable up to that date. If AMONG can't run for any reason, you get everything back — deposit included.
